The Friends of Manadon Vale School is a registered charity that was set up in 1988 to provide educational luxuries for the school, which are not normally provided by the Local Education Authority.
All the money raised (last year in excess of £5000) is used exclusively for the benefit of the children at Manadon Vale Primary School.
We usually meet as an open committee approximately every half term in the school when we plan and organise future events. Most events are aimed at involving as many as possible of the local community and the purpose of the events is to raise money for the benefit of all children in the school. We try to arrange functions that will involve everyone including a few non-profit making events. Recent fundraising activities have included a Christmas Bake Off, Manadon Vale’s Got Talent show and the Christmas Draw Evening.
In recent years, the Friends have contributed funds towards the new computer suite, equipment for the PE, the Foundation Stage and Music, as well as books and resources for all curriculum areas.
As you can imagine, we always need new ideas, so please come along and join us. We have found that teachers, parents and children working together in this way creates a very warm, friendly, family atmosphere within the school.

Match Funding
Many organisations often give money as part of their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme to non-profit groups or organisations in the form of matching funds, usually to a ratio of 1:1. Not all employees are aware that their employers offer match funding, so sometimes it requires an enquiry to find out.
If you work for an organisation that offers match funding, please get in touch and we can hopefully determine which fund raising event your employer can possibly help us with.

Did you know that whenever you buy anything online - from your weekly shop to your annual holiday - you could be raising a free donation for Manadon Vale PTFA?
There are nearly 3,000 retailers on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline and Sainsbury's – it doesn't cost you a penny extra!

2. Shop. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first, pick the retailer you want and start shopping.
3. Raise. After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to your good cause for no extra cost whatsoever!
